PERFORMANCE METALS ANODES

The M/V Chesapeake a 54' aluminum hull boat we provided with Performance metals anodes.

Part of our work is the identification of the type and causes of corrosion and then providing vessel owners with ways to protect their vessels. In connection with this we identified and participated in testing a unique line of sacrifical anodes that provide outstanding vessel protection. They are the Navalloy™ sacrificial anodes and are manufactured by Performance Metals, a Pennsylvania based firm. Performance Metals is a supplier of both traditional zinc and premium high performance Navalloy aluminum alloy sacrifical anodes.

Reasons we use, recommend and supply these premium high performance sacrificial anodes include:
Navalloy™ anodes - Navalloy™ is a special alloy made to a US Military specification MIL-A-24779 which is a blend of alumunium, zinc (5%) and a trace of indium. This formula gives a better protection voltage and ensures that the anode stays clean and corrodes evenly.

Performance Metals high performance anodes with their exclusive "wear indicators".     Better protection - They have a higher protection voltage than zinc in the Galvanic Series and provide effective protection in fresh, brackish and salt water. They are ideal for alumumium hulls.

Red Spot wear indicator - The unique exclusive "wear indicator" takes the guesswork out of knowing when to change anodes. A red plastic indicator is embedded in the anode and appears in the surface when the anode has worn to half its original size.
