At Wavetop Technology we pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and utilize the best techniques and products available to ensure that our services meet client expectations. We stand behind our work 100%. If we say we will fix it and don’t, you don’t pay, See our guarantee. Keep in mind that: “The least expensive way to do a job is to do it right the first time, which is the way we do it.”

Effective 1/1/09 LABOR CHARGES POSTED WILL BE DISCOUNTED 10% if paid in 10 days.      We do not bid jobs. Our prices are competitive and we will provide a firm quote for the equipment portion of a job and an estimate for labor. But typically boats are not built in a way that makes it easy to modify them and every boat is different. The one thing you can count on is that each one will have several suprises waiting when you start working on it.

Our featured services and related rates are described below:

Consulting Projects: Project time is normally billed at a rate of $110.00 per hour. However, because consulting projects are so varied, our normal procedure is to set the rate with the client after we determine what the project requirements are.

Electrical System Surveys: We will inspect the electrical system of your vessel (excluding buried wire runs) for unsafe conditions and potential problem areas. The inspection will be based upon compliance with Federal regulations and ABYC, NMEA and NFPA standards. We will then give you a list that highlights items that need attention. The fee is $ 5.00 per foot with a minimum charge of $150.00.

Damage Surveys: On lightning and corrosion surveys we bill on an hourly rate of $70.00 per hour. Time required will depend upon the size and complexity of the boat(s) and location. If required, we will try to give an estimate of the time needed, but with this type of inspection it is often impossible to predict what will be found and the time needed to find accurate answers.

System Service & Installation Work: Job labor is billed at a rate of $70.00 per hour. If an extensive pre-job survey is necessary, the fee for it will be the same as for our electrical system survey.

Material Charges: Our normal procedure for all types of work is to supply all of the parts and materials required to do your job. Materials are provided at competitive prices that are usually under list price.

Travel Charges: Our technician's hourly charges normally start when he leaves our shop and end when he returns or when he leaves you job for another appointment. We don't charge for mileage and travel time for work done in the North Carolina coastal area between New Bern, Washington, Beaufort, Morehead City and Swansboro. There are no travel charges for Electrical System surveys done in this same area.

For other work that is done outside the defined North Carolina coastal area there will be an additional mileage charge of $ 0.50 per mile and all travel related costs including airfare, tolls, meals, lodging and vehicle rentals will be paid by the client.

Terms: All charges are due at the time of billing with payment by cash, check, Visa or Master Card. Billing is normally done upon job completion except for major projects where billing is done bi-weekly. There is a prompt payment discount of 10% on labor charges if paid within 10 days of billing. If payment is not received within 10 days after billing, the discount does not apply. After 30 days a late fee of $30 will be assessed in addition to finance fees of 1 ½% per month on the unpaid balance.
