This expertise, combined with our experience, lets us effectively address the complex problems related to vessel corrosion.

This is done by analysis and testing, utilizing unique specialized equipment. This lets us recommend solutions that range from anode protection and surface finishes to galvanic isolation and impressed current cathode systems. See a description of our test equipment.

     • We conduct marine corrosion surveys for both boat and marina owners to determine the status of vessel galvanic isolation and the presence of fault current and voltage drop on dock electrical power systems. From the information collected, we are able to design approaches to correct corrosion problems associated with impressed current and bonding systems.

    • Marine corrosion projects we have worked on include:
  • Development and implementation of procedures for survey and analysis of corrosion damage to stern drives.
  • Analysis of marina and vessel galvanic corrosion problems.
  • Design, construction and application of test equipment to determine the presence of AC fault current between the vessel and dockside power. This equipment also checks the boat's galvanic isolation.
  • Analysis and correction of major corrosion problems associated with previously installed impressed current systems and replacement of faulty bonding systems.
  • Analysis of corrosion damage of keel cooler installations on high-speed aluminum ferries.

    • Our expertise, which is based upon years of experience and training, has resulted in qualification and certification by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) as a NACE International Corrosion Technician and the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) as a Marine Corrosion Technician.
